Innoko River winds across the southern reaches of this interior Alaskan landscape, defining a complex system of oxbows and wetlands in the southwestern portion of the Ophir D-2 quadrangle. The terrain is characterized by the steady drainage of Wapoo Cr, which flows through the center of the sheet towards the river basin. This 2019 survey by the U.S. Geological Survey captures the remote and largely uninhabited character of the Yukon-Koyukuk region, revealing a landscape shaped by natural watercourses rather than human infrastructure. The public land survey system grid, including townships t19s r10e and t20s r11e, provides the primary framework for orientation in a region where roads and named settlements are absent.
