Orbisonia and Rockhill anchor the northeast corner of this mid-1960s survey, situated along the winding path of Blacklog Creek. The landscape is dominated by the linear ridges of the Ridge-and-Valley Appalachians, including Jacks Mountain, Shade Mountain, and Blacklog Mountain. Between these heights, small rural communities like Pogue and Three Springs follow the watercourses and gaps that historically dictated travel and settlement in Huntingdon County.

Evidence of the area's industrial and social fabric is found in several Abandoned railroad grades and local institutions such as Southern Huntingdon County High Sch. The map records a deep network of country churches and burial grounds, from the IOOF Cem near the borough to the Walnut Grove Ch in the south. Public lands are well-represented by State Game Lands No 99 and State Game Lands No 81, preserving the wooded slopes of Sideling Hill.
