The Heart River winds through the northern portion of this Grant County landscape, joined by Big Muddy Creek as it flows toward the Curlew Valley. The terrain is defined by a series of dramatic coulees, including Griner Coulee and Snake Coulee, which cut through the high plains toward the river valley. In the southern reaches of the map, the headwaters of Snake Creek and Otter Creek emerge from the rolling hills.
