Lower Tamarack River and its accompanying Tamarack River Reservoir anchor the northwestern portion of this Pine County landscape. The terrain is defined by a dense network of waterways and drainage systems, including McDermott Cr, Ox Creek, and Squib Cr, which meander through the townships of t43n r17w and t43n r16w. This 2016 survey illustrates a sparsely populated region primarily characterized by its hydrography and a grid of rural access roads.
