The Oza Tanka Lakebed area of Faribault County reveals a landscape fundamentally reshaped by agricultural engineering. This part of southern Minnesota is defined by an extensive network of drainage infrastructure, including Judicial Ditch Number Six and County Ditch Number Seventy, which transformed former wetlands and lakebeds into productive farmland. The natural path of the E Br Blue Earth River meanders through the southern portion of the map, providing a sharp contrast to the rigid, geometric grid of the county road system and the straight lines of the man-made ditches.
