Bull Shoals Lake dominates the landscape of this Arkansas-Missouri borderland, where intricate shorelines create numerous inlets like Cow Cove and Three Finger Cove. The settlement of Peel is situated on the eastern side of the quadrangle, serving as a focal point for the surrounding rural terrain. This area is characterized by a series of prominent peaks and ridges, most notably Short Mtn, Japanese Knob, and Tater Knob, which rise above the deeply incised drainage basins of Spicewood Cr and Boren Fork.

Genealogists and local historians can locate several historic burial sites, including Peel Cem, Locust Cem, Upshaw Cem, and Riddle Cem, which are scattered throughout the hills.
