Pigeon Mountain and the Little Pigeon Mountains dominate the eastern landscape of this high desert terrain in Box Elder County. The corridor is defined by the legacy of Western railroading, featuring the prominent Lucin Cutoff running east-west across the flats and the nearby Old RR Grade. This infrastructure supported remote stations and track maintenance in a region where water sources like Grouse Creek are critical but sparse.
