The Mission Range dominates this mid-1960s landscape, serving as a dramatic natural divider between the Flathead Indian Reservation Boundary to the west and the heavily forested valleys to the east. The rugged topography is defined by steep ridges and a dense network of mountain drainages, including Talking Water Creek, Blue Bay Creek, and Station Creek, all flowing westward toward the shoreline of Blue Bay. To the east, the terrain transitions into the Flathead National Forest and Swan River State Forest, where the Swan River winds through the lowlands.
