Deer Creek and the intricate Cone Kimball Ditch drainage network define this Sacramento Valley landscape at the border of Tehama and Butte counties. The area is characterized by a transition from flat agricultural land, supported by an Irrigation Ditch and numerous wells, into the rising foothills to the east. Of particular interest to local historians is the U S Auxiliary Airfield and the Carter Cemetery, located near the intersection of Orchard Road and Reed Road.
