The confluence of the Grande Ronde Wild and Scenic River and the Wallowa Wild and Scenic River defines this landscape in the northeastern corner of Oregon. At this river junction lies the small settlement of Rondowa, situated at the base of steep canyon walls. The geography is characterized by deep drainages like Duncan Canyon and Rysdam Canyon that cut through the high timberlands of the Umatilla National Forest and Wallowa National Forest.
