Frog Bayou winds through the southeastern corner of this Crawford County landscape, where the Burlington Northern railroad serves the settlement of Rudy. The terrain is defined by the sharp rise of Winset Mountain and High Rock, with much of the northern territory protected within the Ozark National Forest. Cultural and family history is preserved in a high concentration of small burial grounds, including the Sarah Grove Cem, Winfrey Cem, and Mt McCurry Cem. A developed gas field and the presence of several country churches, such as Kenner Chapel and Oliver Springs Ch, reflect a mid-century rural economy balancing natural resource extraction with established community life. Small clusters of homes at Hobbtown and Cedarville are connected by a network of unimproved roads and creek crossings, including East Cedar Creek and Little Webber Creek.
