Green Mtn and the surrounding high-altitude meadows define this section of the Wyoming landscape along the border of Fremont and Sweetwater counties. The area is characterized by significant topographic relief, rising toward Whiskey Peak and the high elevations of Whiskey Ridge in the eastern portion of the survey. Numerous drainages such as E Cottonwood Cr and Lost Soldier Cr carve through the terrain, while open areas like Sagebrush Park and East Cottonwood Park offer breaks in the complex mountain geography. The Continental Divide National Scenic Trail winds through the southwestern corner, marking a major geographic corridor for travelers and hikers. This map captures the intricate network of canyons and rims, including Rocky Canyon and the Stratton Rim, which have long influenced movement through this part of the high desert and mountain transition.
