Sagebrush Valley and its surrounding canyons define this corner of Chaves County, characterized by a complex network of seasonal drainages and draws. The watercourse of the Rio Felix snakes across the northern sections, while the southern landscape is shaped by the winding paths of Eagle Canyon and Goaty Canyon. These natural features, along with Singer Lake Draw, illustrate the topographic drainage patterns of the high desert environment in eastern New Mexico.
