1965 Map of Scenic

USGS Topo · Published 1975

About this map

Great Northern Railroad tracks carve a critical corridor through the mountain pass here, entering the Cascade Tunnel just east of the mountain settlement of Scenic. The landscape is dominated by the high peaks of the Snoqualmie National Forest and Wenatchee National Forest, which meet at the boundary of Chelan and King counties. This mid-1960s survey documents the transition from early industrial infrastructure to recreational use, showing the Old Railroad Grade alongside modern engineering.
