Big Elm Creek and its many tributaries, including Salt Creek, Camp Creek, and Little Elm Creek, define the drainage of this central Texas landscape. The area is a network of rural settlements connected by farm-to-market roads, featuring small communities such as Seaton, Zabcikville, and Ratibor. A notable concentration of genealogy-rich sites is present, from the National Cemetery and Dyess Cemetery to the clustered settlements of Cyclone and Red Ranger.
