Glacial lake basins define this portion of the White Earth Reservation at the border of Becker and Mahnomen counties. The landscape is dominated by water, from the sprawling northern reaches of White Earth Lake to the central cluster of Snider Lake, Nest Lake, and Rooster Lake. Local transit is facilitated by a network of rural routes such as Snider Lake Rd, Co Rd 144, and BIA Rd 71, which connect the small settlement at Twin Lakes to the surrounding woodland and wetland environment.
