Spring Valley dominates this high-desert landscape in eastern Nevada, where the vast valley floor meets the rising peaks of the Snake Range. The drainage patterns of Cleve Cr and Spring Cr illustrate the complex hydrology of this arid basin, flowing toward the wetlands that dot the central valley floor. In the southeastern portion of the quadrangle, the topography shifts dramatically into the mountainous terrain of the range, featuring landmarks such as the Osceola Arch and the steep descent of Turnley Canyon. Infrastructure is sparse, primarily defined by White Pine Co Road 37, which skirts the western edge of the mountains. This 2018 survey captures the region's character as a site of critical water resources, most notably at South Bastian Spring, which serves as a vital point of interest for understanding land use and environmental history in this part of White Pine County.
