1953 Map of South Russell

USGS Topo · Published 1954

About this map

South Russell and the surrounding townships of Bainbridge, Russell, and Newbury are depicted here during a period of mid-century growth in Geauga County. The landscape is defined by the winding course of the Chagrin River and its tributaries, including Silver Creek and Griswold Creek. While much of the area remains wooded or agricultural, the emergence of residential clusters and recreation is evident in the development of Lake Lucerne and the presence of localized aviation at the Chagrin Falls Airport.
