Lolo National Forest encompasses the southern half of this landscape, where the jagged boundary between Lewis and Clark and Powell counties divides the high country. The terrain is defined by a series of prominent summits and drainage systems, with Spread Mtn and East Spread Mtn serving as central anchors. To the north, the elevations rise toward Omar Mtn and Canyon Point, while the hydrological network flows through steep canyons via Conger Cr and Falls Cr. This 2014 survey illustrates the complex topography of the Continental Divide region, highlighting remote alpine water bodies like Camp Lake, Lake Otatsy, and Canyon Lake. The survey also marks Camp Pass, a high-altitude notch between the headwaters of Lake Cr and Falls Cr, providing a detailed view of the natural corridors used to navigate this section of the Northern Rockies.
