Iredell sits at the northeastern corner of this landscape, where Farm Road 216 and FM-927 meet near the banks of the N Bosque River. This 2012 survey illustrates a terrain defined by the winding paths of the Duffau Cr and Honey Cr, which feed into the primary river system. Local family history is rooted at Barbee Cem and Proffitt Cem, small burial grounds that serve as markers of early settlement in the area. The namesake Spring Creek Gap is found to the southeast, a natural break in the topography through which Spring Creek flows. A network of county roads, such as Co Rd-2484 and Co Rd-234, crisscross the countryside, connecting isolated homesteads and ranching properties to the regional trade center at Iredell.
