Springtown and its surrounding prairie landscape are defined by the mid-century energy boom, evidenced by the extensive Springtown Oil Field and numerous Oil Wells peppered across the landscape. The town serves as a hub for the local cattle and oil economies, with a High Sch and residential expansion shown in the Highland Addition. To the south, the terrain becomes more varied around Tater Hill and the forebodingly named Hangmans Hollow, where the land drops toward the drainage of Woody Creek and Lick Creek.
