The Lolo National Forest dominates this mid-1960s terrain, where the high alpine basins north of Missoula are defined by steep ridges and glacial lakes. A significant portion of the sheet is marked by the Flathead Indian Reservation Boundary, which cuts diagonally across the northern and western sections, separating the reservation lands from the national forest. Recreational development is evident near Point Six, where the Missoula Snow Bowl and its Ski Tow are mapped along the slopes leading into Grant Creek Basin.
