Rufus Woods Lake dominates this stretch of the Columbia River along the border of the Colville Indian Reservation. The terrain is defined by dramatic elevation changes, rising from the riverbank to the high plateau of Pearl Hill and the distinctive Ragged Butte. The landscape is dotted with numerous small water bodies and springs, such as Klinkhammer Lakes, Judson Lake, and Gladys Spring, which served as critical water sources in this arid environment.
