The Brazos River meanders through the western portion of this Waller County landscape, defining deep curves at Raccoon Bend and Wildcat Bend. This 2010 survey shows a rural region structured by long-established farm-to-market roads and a dense network of family and community burial sites. The small settlement of Monaville sits at the junction of FM 1887 and FM 359, while to the south, the community of Sunny Side is anchored by the Sunny Side Post Office.
