Aniakchak National Preserve and the Alaska Maritime National Wildlife Refuge converge at this remote coastal junction on the Alaska Peninsula. The landscape is defined by the sweeping curves of Amber Bay and Aniakchak Bay, where the Pacific Ocean meets a coastline marked by prominent landforms like Cape Ayutka. Several coastal drainages, including Main Creek and the shorter W Cr, feed into these bays from the high ground to the west.
