Denali National Preserve encompasses much of this interior landscape, where the high peaks of the Alaska Range dominate the topography. Rising significantly above the surrounding terrain, Mt Dall serves as a primary landmark in the northeastern portion of the sheet. The hydrological character of the region is defined by the West Fork Yentna River, which cuts through the southwestern corner, offering a contrast to the high-elevation glacial and mountain features. This 2017 survey reflects the protected wilderness status of the area, showing no modern roads or settlements, but instead documenting the natural drainage patterns and the complex contours of the mountain slopes within the Matanuska-Susitna region.
