2019 Map of Taylor Mountains D-8 SE

About this map

The Kuskokwim Mountains dominate this 2019 survey, showcasing the high-elevation terrain of the Dillingham Census Area. The landscape is defined by the high headwaters and drainage networks that feed into the larger river systems of southwest Alaska. In the southern half of the quadrangle, the Gemuk River and its tributaries, such as Beaver Cr and Cinnabar Cr, weave through the foothills of the range. To the northwest, the watershed shift is marked by the presence of Waterboot Cr. This map represents a modern topographic record of a largely undeveloped region, where the primary human footprint is defined by the Public Land Survey System grid lines of t9n r54w and t8n r54w, rather than permanent settlements or industrial infrastructure.
