Round Prairie and the rugged breaks of the Hardscrabble region dominate this late 1960s survey of Williams County. The landscape is defined by the drainage systems of Eightmile Creek and Sixmile Creek, which carve through the plains toward the Missouri River basin to the south. Human settlement is concentrated near the southern edge along the Great Northern railroad line, where the small station of Marley and the nearby Trinity Ch serve the local ranching and farming community.

The southwestern corner of the sheet transitions into the Buford flats, home to the Buford Cem and the winding Figley Coulee. The topography reveals a mix of flat upland prairies and deeply eroded coulees, reflecting the transition from agricultural tablelands to the river valley breaks. Scattered Gravel Pit locations indicate the local extraction of glacial materials used for road building in this sparsely populated stretch of western North Dakota.
