Fish Lake Reservoir dominates the eastern half of this terrain, its irregular shoreline forming numerous bays and points just north of the Beaver River. The landscape is defined by the heavy presence of wetlands and water bodies characteristic of Saint Louis County, including Caribou Lake, Long Lake, and Bergen Lake near the northern settlement of Taft. The southern portion of the sheet shows the development around the communities of Bartlett and Twig, where local history is anchored by the Grand Lake Cem.
