Based on 1951 aerial photography, the map reveals a remote environment largely devoid of permanent infrastructure, save for a lone Cabin located in the eastern interior. The terrain is marked by numerous survey stations, including VABM 169 Ernie, VABM 198 Vixen, and VABM 17 King, which serve as the primary landmarks in an area of low relief.

This survey was compiled using data from the Bureau of Land Management and the U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey to delineate unsurveyed land lines. The mapping reflects the early post-war effort to systematically chart the Alaskan coastline and interior during a period when the region remained largely untouched by modern development, preserving the exact contours of the shoreline before later environmental shifts.
