Itkillik River winds through this expanse of the North Slope, carving a braided path across the tundra of the t3n r5e and t2n r5e townships. The landscape is defined by vast wetland systems and permafrost features, with the large expanse of Imaiknik Lake dominating the southwestern portion of the sheet. This 2017 survey reflects the remote character of the Arctic coastal plain, where the lack of roads and permanent settlements emphasizes a landscape shaped almost entirely by seasonal water flow and geological processes. Small unnamed ponds and thermokarst lakes dot the higher ground near the t3n r6e and t2n r6e boundaries, illustrating the complex hydrology of this region North of the Brooks Range.
