About this map

The Tonsina Glacier dominates the lower central portion of this 1990s landscape, illustrating a complex glacial system where ice meets the headwaters of the Tonsina River. This 1:63,360 scale topographic survey, compiled from 1950 topography and 1995 imagery, reveals the movement of ice through noted crevasses and the drainage patterns of the Tsina Glacier further south. The valley floor is defined by the Tonsina Lake in the northeast, fed by the braided paths of the Tonsina River and several glacial tributaries.
