About this map

Eastwood and the community of Chicopee sit along the southeastern and northeastern edges of this landscape, which is heavily defined by the winding course of the Current River. Much of the territory is protected within the Mark Twain National Forest and the Ozark National Scenic Riverway, where the terrain is carved into numerous named hollows and valleys. These include Dry Valley, Brushy Hollow, and Wildhorse Hollow. Local history is anchored by sites such as Eastwood Cem, Turley Cem, and Poca Cem, which are scattered among the ridges.
