Mount Hood National Forest dominates this section of the Cascade Range, defined by its high-altitude lakes and volcanic peaks. The Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail winds through the center of the sheet, connecting several water sources and viewpoints, including Indian Springs and the northern slopes of Indian Mountain. The geography is centered on Wahtum Lake, which sits at the foot of Chinidere Mountain and Waucoma Ridge.
