The settlement of Wales sits at the eastern base of the San Pitch Mountains, where the rugged canyon topography meets the open Sanpete Valley. This 2020 survey illustrates the town’s grid structure along Main St and S 200 W, leading south toward the Wales Cem. The landscape to the west is defined by a series of dramatic drainages within the Uinta National Forest, including Wales Canyon, Peach Canyon Cr, and the industrial history implied by Coal Canyon.
