About this map

Saint Joseph Ch and the neighboring settlement of Saint Joseph occupy the high ground of the northern panhandle hills, where the border of Marshall and Wetzel Counties meets. The landscape is defined by an intricate network of ridges and narrow valleys, such as Greenfield Ridge and Fairview Ridge, which dictated the location of early homesteads and mountain roads. By the early 1960s, the region was heavily marked by the extraction industry, with numerous Gas Wells and Oil Wells scattered across the steep slopes and along Little Fishing Creek.
