Gates of the Arctic National Park encompasses the vast majority of this landscape, recorded by the U.S. Geological Survey in 2016. The high-altitude terrain is defined by a network of drainage basins, most notably the south-flowing Publituk Cr and Mashoshalluk Cr. These waterways feed into larger systems such as the Allen River and are punctuated by remote water bodies like Pamichtuk Lake.
