Mount Hood National Forest and the Salmon-Huckleberry Wilderness dominate this high-country landscape, where the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trl traverses a ridge system between water-rich basins. The northern half of the sheet is defined by the Salmon Wild and Scenic River, which drops over Split Falls and Stein Falls as it cuts through the terrain. To the south, the headwaters and north shore of Timothy Lake emerge, providing a focal point for recreation with features like Meditation Point and the Timothy Bike Trl.
