Spring Valley dominates this high-altitude basin in White Pine County, where the desert hydrology is defined by seasonal ephemeral waters. At the heart of the terrain lies Yelland Dry Lake, a broad alkali flat that serves as a terminal point for local drainage. Smaller aquatic features like Taft Lake and numerous mountain-fed streams, including O'Toole Cr and McCoy Cr, illustrate the complex water rights and land management of the Great Basin. Remote access is provided by White Pine Co Road 36 and White Pine Co Road 37, which skirt the edges of the valley. For those tracking ranching history or environmental shifts, the presence of North Millick Spring and South Millick Spring indicates the critical water sources that have sustained movement and life through this arid landscape for generations.
