About this map

The northern suburbs of Dallas are in a state of rapid post-war transition in the late 1950s, as urban expansion begins to press against established farming communities. While the southern portion of the map shows dense residential developments and significant institutional growth—evidenced by Ursuline Academy, Jefferson High Sch, and Hamilton Park Sch—the northern reaches remain largely open. Small agricultural centers like Addison and Renner maintain their rural character along the St Louis Southwestern RR.
