Adel sits as the central point of reference in this Pushmataha County landscape, where the northern drainage of Jackfork Cr meets a series of high ridges and narrow creek valleys. The terrain is defined by prominent peaks including Turkey Mtn, Big Caney Mtn, and Blue Mtn, which separate the various branches of Clear Cr and Caney Cr. In the southern portion of the quadrangle, the elevation rises toward Fobb Ridge and Wildcat Mtn, eventually dropping down to the Kiamichi River in the southeast corner.
