The White River meanders through this remote Uintah County landscape, carving deep loops as it passes between the Southman Canyon Gas Field and the Rock House Gas Field. Industry in the late 1960s is evidenced by numerous Gas Wells, Drill Holes, and scattered Prospects throughout the canyonlands. The small settlement of Rock House serves as a lone named waypoint in the southern portion of the quadrangle, situated near a complex network of drainage systems including Atchees Wash and Asphalt Wash.
