Ballard Camp is the central human landmark in this section of Motley County, where the landscape is defined by the winding course of the Middle Pease River. The drainage network is complex, with numerous named seasonal watercourses such as Ballard Cr, Tee Pee Cr, and Longs Br cutting through the terrain. Evidence of the region's ranching heritage is visible in the distribution of stock ponds and water management features, including Yearling Pasture Tank, Black Cow Tank, and a notable water feature simply labeled The Ditch. While much of the land remains open, a grid of rural roads like Co RD 247 and Co RD 231 provide access to this remote Texas landscape. The map provides a detailed look at the hydrology and topographical character of the area just south of the Panhandle, where small tributaries like Bear Cr and Hackberry Cr feed the larger river system.
