About this map

The Crawford County countryside around Beaver Center is defined by the headwaters of Conneaut Creek, where the drainage patterns of West Branch Conneaut Creek and Mud Run cut through a landscape of woodlots and agriculture. In the late 1950s, this area maintained a rural character shaped by its transport corridors, notably the Pennsylvania and Bessemer and Lake Erie railroads which run through the eastern half of the quadrangle. Significant acreage is dedicated to the State Game Lands No 101, which straddles the Ohio State Line and the Erie County border.
