Bering Glacier and the Bagley Ice Valley dominate this high-altitude landscape within the Wrangell-St. Elias Wilderness. The area is a study in extreme glacial activity and topographic relief, where massive ice fields flow through the Wrangell-Saint Elias National Park. Near the southern boundary, the prominent Waxell Ridge rises above the ice, marking a significant transition in the terrain. This survey also records the administrative boundary between the Chugach Census Area and the Yakutat Borough, illustrating how modern jurisdictional lines are mapped across one of the most remote and glaciated regions of Alaska.
