High-altitude glacial terrain and rugged ridges define this remote intersection of three major Alaskan mountain systems. The Saint Elias Mountains dominate the central landscape, meeting the Granite Range to the west and the northern extent of the Chugach Mountains to the south. This survey captures a massive wilderness area protected under the Wrangell-Saint Elias National Preserve and the more restrictive Wrangell-St. Elias Wilderness, where human infrastructure is entirely absent in favor of natural drainages. Drainage patterns are dominated by the Chitina River in the northeast corner and the winding course of Marble Creek, which carves through the western slopes. The map illustrates a landscape governed by steep elevation changes and tectonic convergence, providing a precise look at the glaciated valleys and peaks that characterize this part of the Copper River Census Area.
