The settlement of Bingham Lake sits at the heart of this agricultural landscape in Cottonwood County, defined by its namesake water body and its proximity to the larger town of Windom to the southwest. The terrain is characterized by numerous prairie lakes and wetlands typical of southwestern Minnesota, including Swan Lake, Rat Lake, and the larger Cottonwood Lake near the municipal boundary. The Watonwan River flows through the northern reaches of the quadrangle, passing just south of the community of Delft.
