About this map

The Temblor Range and Temblor Valley define this landscape on the edge of the San Joaquin Valley, where industrial activity and complex geology meet. By the mid-20th century, the region was heavily shaped by petroleum extraction, as evidenced by the South Belridge Oil Field, the Chico Martinez Oil Field, and the Cymric Oil Field Salt Creek Area. These fields follow the northwest-southeast trend of the terrain, specifically around the McDonald Anticline and the Bacon Hills.
