Tomlinson Ranch and the tiny settlement of Three Pines anchor this remote section of the East Tavaputs Plateau, where the boundary between Uintah and Grand Counties crosses a landscape of deep canyons and prominent ridges. The geography is defined by long, erosional drainage systems such as Cedar Camp Canyon, Main Canyon, and Preacher Canyon, many of which provide the only viable routes for passage like the Main Canyon Rd.
