Kittitas Valley transitions from agricultural bottomlands to high desert peaks in this topographic study. The landscape is defined by its water management and distinct terrain markers, most notably North Branch Canal which feeds the lower elevations near Takihoma Farm Ln. To the east, the elevation rises sharply toward Whiskey Dick Mtn and the unique landmark known as Chinamans Hat. Numerous seasonal drainages like Whiskey Jim Cr and Caribou Cr carve deep through the arid slopes, creating prominent geographical features such as Black Rock Canyon and Cooke Canyon. This region is also crisscrossed by a network of rural routes, including Ryegrass Ranches Rd and Secret Canyon Rd, which follow the natural contours of the canyons.
